The midfielder Deliveries from corners and free kicks caused problems. Was given room to roam down the left flank yet found himself in an offside position when the ball arrived with a chance to score. Awarded a well-earned rest on the hour mark. 6

The star midfielder Operated in an advanced position on the right while also put in defensive duties. Displayed moments of class and scuffed an attempt over. Withdrawn in the closing stages by Rogers, his rival, following a yellow card. Seven

Jarrod Bowen Had the team's best chance before halftime, his shot excellently kept out from Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate staying deep, he had to provide width down the right side although his balls from wide areas were hit and miss. Replaced for the final quarter-hour. 6

The captain The difference-maker scoring two more finishes at international level. The first a classic close-range tap-in and the second an excellent header having drifted away away from the opposition. Aged 32, his form is unwavering and the side are strong contenders next summer with him leading the line. 8/10

The attacker Had difficulty to make an impact from the left. Had a decent opportunity after being played in by Bellingham yet Strakosha denied him. Rashford made much more of an impact when substituted. 5
